This is SO cool: What if streets could stay lit at night without streetlights? That's the idea behind "Starpath," a new type of surfacing material that absorbs sunlight during the day and then emits a blue glow at night to illuminate pathways. Currently it's being tested in a park in England, and creators say the stuff can be painted over existing paths as well. It's creators note that it's cheaper than the cost of streetlights.
